The Southern Arizona Asian & Pacific Islander Health Coalition (SAAPIHC) was established on August 28, 2010.

SAAPIHC mission is to promote better health and wellness of Asian and Pacific Islander communities through education, networking, and advocacy.*

Establishment of SAAPIHC: Douglas Hirano, Asian Pacific Community in Action (APCA) Executive Director asked Dr. Howard J. Eng to organize a meeting to explore the possibility of a partnership between APCA and the Tucson Asian and Pacific Islander community. The meeting occurred on February 6, 2010. At the end of the meeting, the attendees agreed to form a partnership with APCA and a work group. After six months, the Coalition was established.
